Incest and all sex abuse knows no color, class, or nationality. We want to help all young women who have endured abuse to branch out and spread their wings! Girlthrive is the only fund that specifically provides girls who have suffered through incest and other sex abuse with the hope and support they deserve! After Dr. Patti Feuereisen wrote the first edition of Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse in 2006 the outcry in her email box was overwhelming. Girls were healing after reading the book and Dr. Patti wanted to honor and encourage them.  When an 18 year old girl from Texas said she left her home after her mother threw her out for telling of the abuse of her step father, and was living with a trusted family, she wanted art lessons. Girlthrive sent her money for art lessons. When another incest survivor wrote form Minnesota saying she just started college but needed money for her acedemic books after her family rejected her, Girlthrive sent her funds for her books. It goes on and on and on .

Since we began the Girlthrive Thrivership Fund in 2006, we have helped girls in nursing school, postgraduate law school, undergraduate art school, as well as sponsoring a retreat for sexually abused teen girls. We have helped girls in their healing by funding their creative pursuits such as yoga, step dancing, glass blowing, voice lessons, guitar lessons. The non-profit GirlThrive Inc. Thrivership Fund was established to help girls who are incest survivors by paying for some of their college expenses and providing them with the funds to pursue creative endeavors following their passions.  We help girls break away from their molesters not only emotionally, but financially as well. The fund covers some costs of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education. Girls from all over the country are eligible for the fund. Funds often are between 300$-500$ and can be awarded multiple times. Girlthrive has follwed some girls for ten years even  to medical school!

Girlthrive Inc. also provides educational and healing resources for girls and the professionals who work with them by donating our book, Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse, all over the country to the girls, young women, courts, prisons, hospitals, rape crisis centers and professionals who need it.

All donors will be kept posted on our progress. Your donations are 100% tax deductible. Girlthrive Inc. is a 501-C3 Non Profit Organzation. Our first Girlthrive thrivership  went to a young woman who survived incest at the hands of her step father for ten years. She has now graduated Harvard Law School and is practicing social justice law!! Here is what she had to say:

"This fund is an acknowledgment of the unique obstacles we have to overcome to attend school and escape our pasts. It gives me hope for the future and, in the immediate present, it has helped me pay for the textbooks and school expenses. It's not even so much the amount that matters, but the love and support and acknowledgment that I felt going through law school. Thank you Dr. Patti and Thank You Girlthrive!" —21 year old incest survivor, a Thrivership recipient.

Invisible Girls: The Truth About Sexual Abuse gave our staff the resources and support to go to a deeper level in helping our young clients heal from sexual abuse. The book and the therapist guide are invaluable to us. We use the book in our agency with staff and with our clients. We have more hope than ever to reach youth that have endured sex abuse and to read the signs of possible abuse in the family, for effective early intervention."
